Lewis County Easter Basket!

What local products should you look for when filling Easter baskets this year?

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone who took the time to read our first blog post enjoyed it and returned to see what we would have this week! With Easter just around the corner, I thought it would be so fun to reach out to some of our neighboring local businesses and make the best Easter basket we can! Together we compiled some amazing products that would be a perfect fit for someone’s Easter basket. Personally I love local products, and I know I’m not the only one. So let me show you what we got!

Right away I thought of Sunnycrest Flowers and Gifts. Whenever I go in there I get stuck looking around at all the cute decorations for much longer than I had planned to. Some of their products would be perfect for a young woman’s Easter basket. They have adorable assortments of aprons, dishtowels and garden flags. Beautiful colors that would brighten up any kitchen or flowerbed! Also spatulas and blooming plants that would be put to great use this spring. And we can’t forget flowers! Of course Sunnycrest has so many beautiful arrangements, and I don’t know any lady that would complain about getting fresh spring flowers around Easter time. They also carry yummy treats from Croghan’s Candy Kitchen, which is the perfect place to get Easter candy and basket sweets!

The Farmhouse Boutique is one of the newer small businesses to open up in the Lowville area. They have an inventory full of unique gifts and home decor, much of which perfectly suits our Easter basket theme. There are products that are perfect for your loved ones of all ages, from baby rattles to beautiful earrings and so much more. The knit items you see are baby rattles, perfect for your precious child’s young Easter experience! They even sell pre-made Easter baskets for you to purchase if you aren’t able to put together your own! These adorable bunny bags can be stuffed to the brim with local products that would make your young ones smile. What you see pictured here is just a small portion of the Easter themed goods they have in their boutique, you must check them out! You will find basket stuffers for men and women, of all ages!

It can sometimes be hard to come up with ideas to fill an adult appealing Easter basket. We sell Tug Hill Coffee in our store, and it is a great fit for stuffing a coffee lovers basket! There are many more kinds that you can choose from besides the two below, and you can find some of them right here on our website! Tug Hill Artisan Roasters offer whole bean or ground options. Also, CafeZ in Lowville has products as well. You can stop by there and pick up tea or coffee blends for those people you know who live for their warm beverages! They also have other snack items like chocolate expresso beans, and maple sugar coated pretzels. Those are all such great options for an adult Easter basket, and they all can be found at local businesses. Stop by when you’re going through town and pick up some things to spice up the Easter baskets you’re putting together for the adults you love.

Right here at Miller’s Meat Market we have plenty of options as well! Many local products can be found in our store, as well as some of our own specialties. Both of our dry rubs come in multiple sizes, and would be a useful product to add in someone’s basket. Grilling season is upon us! Our Watson Sand and Jerked Brine can add a delicious new dimension to anything you cook up this spring and summer. We also have shelves of candy of all kinds to satisfy your little one’s sweet tooth (or your own!). As you all know we specialize in meat, but what meat can go in an Easter basket? Well we have five kinds of snack sticks at this point in time, and we just introduced six new kinds of beef jerky! So in the store we now have 11 jerky options! More than we ever have had before, and you have to give them a try! Introduce them to your friends and family for Easter! We also have other customer favorites like pepperoni and many kinds of bologna that would appeal to guys and girls this Easter! The options don’t stop there, we carry an abundance of local maple products in the store as well. We have maple syrup, maple butter, maple cream, maple cinnamon sugar, maple floss, Freeman’s maple taffy, maple Moser sausage, sugar cakes and other maple candy. Who doesn’t love some true Lewis County maple flavor?

My hope is that we can all continue to support local business in this different season of life. I am so confident that the products shared with you today would bring a smile to anyone’s face! We at Miller’s truly love the Easter holiday, but not for the Easter baskets. Easter is a reminder that Jesus Christ came and lived on earth, all to suffer and die for us on the cross so that all our sins would be paid for. Three days after Jesus died, He rose from the grave and conquered death. The sacrifice that Jesus made for us has never been matched, and we will never be able to comprehend the love He showed us on the cross so many years ago. Although His greatest act of love happened before our time, Jesus continues to love us all unconditionally. I hope that throughout this upcoming Easter weekend we all work to show love to others, and celebrate the true reason for the holiday.

Happy Easter, everyone!

He is Risen!
